Free
Tax Filing Online, Ltd., Privacy Statement A
new law requires that CPAs and all other personal financial
service providers disclose their privacy policies to clients
in a written notice. These policies pertain to non-public
personal information about current and former clients. Of
course, Free Tax Filing Online, Ltd. has always protected your
right to privacy with professional standards that are even
more stringent than those required by law, and long before the
law required such disclosures.
In order to
assist you with your professional needs and, in some cases, to
comply with professional guidelines, we retain records
relating to the professional services we provide you. We have
rigorous physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards in
place to protect these records, and they are accessed
internally only on an 'as-needed' basis, and only by
authorized personnel.
Non-public
personal information is never collected without your
authorization, and we do not disclose such information except
as required by law. Permitted disclosures include third
parties who assist us in providing services to you, such as
FreeTax USA, the vendor providing us with our tax compliance
software.
The tax return
information that we collect is used strictly for lawful
purposes and is never shared with federal, state or other
taxing authorities without your consent. The foregoing
notwithstanding, we reserve the right to disclose your
information without your consent in response to a court order,
subpoena, search warrant or other inquiry or request from
governmental or regulatory authorities, or to protect against
fraud or other criminal activities. If you choose to
electronically file your return, we will transmit your tax
return to the appropriate federal and state taxing
authorities.
The IRS

the computer from which the return originated, as well as the
e-mail address of the person who electronically filed the
return. This information is sent to the IRS at the time you
choose to submit your return to the IRS for electronic
filing.
